My Unforgettable 21st
It’s been a long time coming, but I am finally 21! The weekend was what I imagined and more. I’ve been so excited to write this blog for awhile now for many reasons…
- 21 is a milestone and an experience I want to be able to share with you
- I had the pleasure of working with amazing businesses and I am so grateful for their willingness to make this the best weekend ever
- Maybe this can provide some inspiration for your next celebration
There are links to every business and restaurant linked in the post. Keep an eye out for my next post that lists my birthday essentials.
I love this location more than the others because of the beautiful indoor patio greenroom. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it appears on the outside. Breadwinner’s food, drinks and environment are all a 10/10. My donuts came out just how I wanted them to… beautiful and delicious.
The donuts are $1.75 a letter. I only had “Happy” and “B•Day” spelled out in donuts, and had “21” and “Madisen” written on donuts.
Thanks to my friends at BAM Beauty Bar in West Village, my friend and I were treated to an afternoon of glam. BAM provided us with complimentary blowouts and makeup services. I was first introduced to the beauty bar when I attended their grand opening.
My entire experience was perfect. The stylists were friendly and followed through with the look I envisioned. They finished our appointment in a timely manner, without feeling like they were rushing. A concern I had prior to my visit was the stylists’ ability to properly do women of color’s hair. BAM has beauticians that truly are experienced in all hair types and they came through with my hair (roots and all)!!
I was invited by Nailuscious on Oak Lawn to try out their custom nail color machine. Y’all… this machine is SO cool! I don’t want to say too much because I have a blog post in the works about my experience at the luxurious salon. Follow their social media accounts to stay up-to-date on their many specials leading up to the new year.
At SMU, there are a lot of students that go to Kaze Japanese Restaurant on Greenville for birthdays and dinners with big groups. I’ve heard great things about Kaze, so I decided that it would be the perfect place to host all of my friends.
Kaze isn’t just a normal Japanese restaurant. They have a private party room that has four hibachi grills, karaoke and aux cord access (so important)!
For brunch, I had to go with Backyard in Deep Ellum (located next to the Bottled Blonde). I have had the opportunity to work with the patio bar a few weeks ago and met many of the staff. When my friends and I showed up, we were greeted with a champagne bucket with two bottles. The staff was not only accommodating, they were also so much fun! If you can’t tell, I’m in love with Backyard and have the best experiences.
I also don’t want to say too much about the venue because I have a blog post in the works about Backyard.
After brunch we went to the last boulevard of the season (excluding the game during Thanksgiving break). Overall, this was the best birthday yet! It was such a blessing being able to ring in 21 with my loved ones. Keep a lookout for my birthday essentials blog post!
Cheers to 21.
